Re - Full blown panic
A panic on the next Monday! Again, read from the bottom up, like a real email exchange...
Episode #14: Re - Full blown panic
Jun,27 2025
Read from bottom to top, this is an email exchange...
Hi Bob,
Essie texted me mostly the same story, but since the meeting, she invited Samantha over for tonight, so the two can talk. She will also try to make it up to you two somehow. She is thinking of just cooking her best meal for your family this weekend, but she would hurry it up for tomorrow if you want to calm things down more quickly.
I called Essie, to know what possessed her to encourage Linda to talk to one of her colleagues, and apparently, she didn't. Linda never mentioned that Samantha was a colleague and not just some random friend.
Essie still feels bad, but just because her colleagues know, doesn't mean others should. Our colleagues don't know, after all. Well, I did email you, but that was on me, not on Essie. We had become close, you and me. I wanted to upgrade you from colleague, to friend.
And I hope, it still sticks.
Your friend, Peter.

Hi Peter,
Linda just texted me. Linda grabbed Samantha for a "work meeting" and they had a conference call with Essie, trying to sort things out. Samantha and Essie apparently yelled a lot at each other at first, but apparently, this is a religious thing, and Samantha said she was a "good modest Christian", to which Essie replied "So am I". They talked about scripture a little, and Essie offered links to Samantha about Christian Naturism. This left her skeptical, but open-minded enough to consider keeping this between the three of them.
Essie and Samantha did trade phone numbers, so that's a plus. Sorry, we panicked. Maybe it's all good.
Robert

Hi Bob,
Shit, I didn't know. Essie didn't tell me. I will call her, get to the bottom of this, and I can try to mediate things between Linda and Samantha. It wouldn't be my first time I had to defend my wife.
Can I call Linda to try to offer hints and ideas? Or can she call Essie? It's her fault, maybe she can help soften things out.
Peter.

You don't get it. It's Essie who told Linda to talk to her friend at work. It's Essie's fault. She might lose her job because of your wife.

Hi Bob,
First, deep breaths, ok? No need to panic. Well, maybe. Is HR already involved. or is this just between Linda and Samantha?
I fully understand your panic, and I wish Linda would have spoken with Essie before opening about your new lifestyle to a colleague. It's not simple for colleagues to accept it.
Possibly, Linda simply got into her head that Essie got fully accepted by her colleagues and as such, maybe she thought it would be easy?
Remember, my wife first became a star at her employer's place and then came out.
Fine, that's a lie. It's a story she tells people, she is too radical to have waited, but Linda isn't!
I sure hope it goes well with Samantha and that Linda keeps her job.
We can talk over lunch if you want.
Your friend, Peter.
